In order to kick this blog off, I feel it’s only necessary to start off by saying welcome, hello, and what you can expect from me.
For starters, I’ve been an SEO professional for the better part of the last 10 years.
When I first began was after a major Google update and my job was to research, analyze, and find holes in the company’s websites.
Things I looked for at the time primarily revolved around shady backlinking practices but that’s morphed into so much more.
These days, I still do regular audits (and if you need an audit, hit me up on the contact page – they’re $500 for a single website audit).
The audits are so much different though.
Our first look revolves around content, then internal linking, then backlinks.
Over the last several years, search engines have gotten smarter and it’s been more focused on the content creation side.
Which is why I built this Surfer website.
It’s the secret weapon I use to pinpoint website issues, orchestrate a plan of attack from a content standpoint, content creation, and even use for my keyword research.
In the coming days and weeks, I’ll be building this out showing and sharing some helpful Surfer tutorials I’ve found helpful over the my career.
